A Look Back at Dreamforce 2019

Dreamforce 2019 was a whirlwind of a week! With 14,800 people attending marketing sessions across 10 tracks, we’ve continued to help Trailblazers learn the latest trends in marketing, understand the challenges that they and their peers face, and grow with practical tips, exemplary content, and interactive workshop sessions.

We wanted to take the time to look back on an unforgettable week across the marketing community.

On Monday, we hosted an intimate CMO roundtable with our top customers and partners. One thing was clear:marketing leaders are now expected to pave the way for better customer experiences — from the brand promise and initial touchpoints, all the way to the end-user experience. Whether you are B2B or B2C it doesn’t matter, marketing is all about building the experience and community.

On Tuesday, we kicked off Dreamforce with Salesforce For B2B Marketing: How Trailblazers Transform Customer Engagement. We had an incredible lineup of speakers, including Michael Kostow, SVP & GM at Pardot, alongside Trailblazers from InsideView and New England Biolabs. Almost 700 attendees learned how these Trailblazers are using Salesforce for B2B Marketing to engage buyers, close deals, and grow relationships at scale.

Wednesday was full of amazing sessions, including a panel on the future of email, which covered new tools for email marketers in Marketing Cloud and predictions and tips on how to improve email marketing results. We also heard from Trailblazers at BELLA+CANVAS about how they’re using Email Studio and Journey Builder to create the perfect welcome series, achieving a 33% increase in ROI while measuring performance along the way with Datorama. And while we were learning how to solve key business challenges and connecting with like-minded marketers, we also had fun thanks to an incredible performance from the legendary Fleetwood Mac. 

On Thursday, over 3,300 attendees joined us at the Marketing Keynote: “The New Decade of Data, Trust and Engagement.” The keynote showcased a number of examples of how innovative marketers and brands are collaborating with Salesforce to  unify their data, modernize their technology infrastructure, and delivering trusted, personalized experiences at scale. We heard from Marketing Cloud CEO Adam Blitzer, SVP of Product Marketing Shannon Duffy, and VP of Product Management Meredith Brown, as well as inspirational Trailblazer customers including Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), Berluti, and Zoom Video Communications. As we get closer to 2020, it’s clear that marketers have a few key mandates that are critical to their success: trust, connected data, and transforming engagement with customers — we’re calling this the age of intelligent marketing . Each customer told their own unique story of how intelligent marketing practices help ensure that customer expectations are front and center.
